Wondering

Have you ever wondered if what you see is really what you see? Or is it just an illusion? Sounds very Matrix like, but I believe it is a valid questions.

Think about it, if perception is everything then we live in a world of illusions based on  how we perceive our surroundings. Illusions of how we  interpret what people say and do. Just think if we all thought and saw the same way then maybe wars could be avoided, unnecessay hurt would be unknown, and life would be much easier. Basically we would live in a Utopian world; much like the world of H.G. Wells , The Time Machine.

On the other hand, if we all perceived  things the same then we would have little to no imagination. This means art would either not exist or have very little variance. This is why I am grateful we perceive things differently, that we do not live in a Utopian society.

I enjoy having individual thoughts and ideas separate from my colleagues, friends and neighbors. I believe that we were created to see things differently and communicate our thoughts and ideas with our neighbor. Only by these discussions can we learn to appreciate eachother and grow. These discussions can cause us to reevaluate our own ideas, or solidify our beliefs. By having an open mind to each others perceptions we learn to think critically and not trust what we see as being the whole truth.

Think about it, would you rather live in a gray world of utopia or live in a colorful, continuly growing
world of individual thought.
